Exhibit Opening: Ephemeral Structures

Saturday, March 2 | 2-4pm | Drop In

Don’t miss the opening for The Gallery’s March art exhibit – Ephemeral Structures! This show brings together three artists that grapple with the concept of structure in very different ways.

In Martin Kimble’s pieces, structures are literally carved out of the surfaces. Organic forms emerge where material has been removed.  In Susan Henry-Scott’s paintings, compositional structure is central to the work. Geometry and balance provide the framework supporting the abstract elements within her compositions. Mikael Sandblom’s work examines the structure of perception by bringing the viewer to the threshold between perceiving the illusion of an image and seeing the materials of the medium. Taken together, these artists demonstrate the wide range of diverse practices pursued by local artists.

The opening will take place Saturday, March 2 from 2-4pm with the artists in attendance. All are welcome to attend to celebrate the launch and enjoy the open wine bar and refreshments!

ACC Presents - A Hidden Gem: Kolapore Wilderness Trails

Tuesday, March 19 | 7pm

For most people, Kolapore is a slight bend in Grey Road 2 south of Ravenna with an old schoolhouse and a church. For others it is one of Southern Ontario’s best backcountry ski areas, the largest block of protected wilderness in the region, source of pure spring water, and home to many species of flora and fauna. Maintained by a small group of dedicated volunteers, the Kolapore Trails are a treasure of the region and a gift to the community. Learn more about the trails on the Kolapore Trails website.

Join Bruce King and Stephen Couchman for an evening of storytelling about the history of the trails and discover some of the hidden gems that lie through the woods and down the path.
