Long-time volunteers at L.E. Shore Library

Volunteering

Take part in a rewarding experience and help others in your community. Volunteer to gain valuable experiences and skills while helping your community. You can become a volunteer if you are looking for long-term or short-term opportunities, if you are a teen, or a co-op student at high school, college or university, a retiree, or if there is a skill you’d like to share with your community.

Volunteer Opportunities

Homebound Volunteer

Help others keep connected with BMPL even if they can’t leave their house. Volunteer your time by driving library materials to Homebound patrons.

Tax Clinic Volunteer

BMPL is hosting a Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) with CRA in February & March 2025. We need volunteers who are interested in filing simple tax returns for members of the public. The CVITP requires you submit a Vulnerable Sector Check, and attend their online training. Interested volunteers must be willing to travel to L.E. Shore Library. Flexible dates and times offered in February and March. This is a great opportunity for anyone in school for business & accounting to gain hands-on experience skills, or anyone with experience filing Tax Returns to give back to their community.
