REEL History Awards
The Craigleith Heritage Depot, a Branch of The Blue Mountains Public Library, is pleased to announce that the APPLE HARVEST film has been awarded a Silver Telly Award in the Museums and Galleries category. This award- winning film was created by the accomplished team at Mountain Goat Film company and was supported by the Town of The Blue Mountains and the Agricultural Advisory Committee. This film is part of the REEL History Series of documentaries that showcase the heritage and history of The Blue Mountains.
The Craigleith Heritage Depot, a Branch of The Blue Mountains Public Library, is pleased to announce that the Craigleith Heritage Depot has been awarded the Lieutenant Governor’s Ontario Heritage Award for Community Leadership. A formal awards ceremony and reception was held virtually on February 24, 2022. The prestigious award for Community Leadership was granted in recognition of the REEL History Film Series that the Craigleith Heritage Depot has created with the assistance of community members and the production team at Mountain Goat Film Company.

On Wednesday November 3, 2021, The Ontario Historical Society (OHS) presented the Dorothy Duncan Public History Award to the Craigleith Heritage Depot. The Ontario Historical Society established the awards program in 1967 to honour individuals and organizations who have contributed significantly to the preservation and promotion of Ontario’s heritage. The Awards program is intended both to acknowledge the work of outstanding individuals and organizations, and to raise public awareness of Ontario’s history and the people who work to preserve and interpret it.
The Telly Awards are based in the US and showcase work created across all screens. With over 12,000 entries, Telly Award winners represent work from some of the most respected advertising agencies, television stations, production companies and publishers from around the world.
Presented at the Ontario Library Association Conference in February 2020.
Minister's Award for Innovation recognizes successful new approaches that demonstrate a positive impact in a community and are of continued value to public libraries.
On Thursday, October 24th, 2019, the Ontario Museum Association (OMA) presented the 2019 OMA Awards of Excellence at the Best Western Brantford during the OMA Annual Conference. The OMA helps support Ontario’s museums to achieve their full potential in enriching people’s lives and helping build vibrant and engaged communities. The Awards of Excellence are an opportunity for the sector to recognize institutions and individuals who are leading the way in making this vision a reality.
