EXHIBIT CLOSING: The Nature of Seeing

-

This exhibition closes June 3 at 2pm.

The Gallery is pleased to present The Nature of Seeing, a new exhibition featuring photography and mixed-media works, for the month of May 2026.

The show brings two artists together - Eden Watt and Mikael Sandblom - whose work engages with the landscape in distinct yet complementary ways. One observes and records the visible world, the play of light, water, and terrain, while the other explores the act of perception itself, how vision constructs and transforms what is seen. Together, their works invite viewers to reflect on the space between the outer world and the inner experience of seeing it, where observation becomes awareness.

Open Doors - Kennedy House Registration (10-11:30am)

Open Doors: A Spring Heritage TourThe Kennedy House

Step back into a maritime romance at this stunning turn-of-the-century home, built between 1890 and 1912. Once the residence of a local sea captain and later the esteemed Dr. McCallum, the property has been cherished by the Kennedy family since 1942.

The home’s most poignant feature is its widow’s walk—a rooftop platform where the Captain’s wife scanned the horizon for his returning sails. Whether used to time a welcoming meal or as a vigil site during treacherous storms, this vantage point offers a powerful connection to the harbour’s storied past.

Come explore three generations of history preserved within these walls. The current owners will be on-site sharing stories and history as well.
