Story Time in the Story Tower

Meet us in the Story Tower at L.E. Shore Library for a fun and interactive Story Time on Fridays at 11:00am. Join us for stories, rhymes, movement, songs, and lots of FUN! Ages 0-5 and their caregivers. Siblings and older children welcome. Drop-in.

Trivia Game Night

Play against each other or play as a group in a weekly interactive online Trivia Game Night! Fill your house with laughter and glee as you answer questions and compete for the top-spot on our scoreboard. Not available on Friday Nights? Don't worry! You'll be able to play Trivia Game Night throughout the week.

Participate through our website and our Facebook every Friday night at 7:00pm when we share the link to the game. 

Cover to Cover Launch at Wag-O-Ween

Blue Mountains Public Library and Maggie & Dave Dick of Dave Dick Real Estate will be at Hester Street Parkette in Thornbury during Wag-O-ween on October 25th to launch our Cover to Cover Reading Challenge!

Stop by our table to register and pick up your reading bag — complete with a tracking bookmark, goodies, and Halloween treats.

Wag-O-ween festivities include a guided dog walk with costumes encouraged, pup cups, a doggy costume contest with paw-some prizes, special guests, activities, and Halloween cupcakes! 

It’s the perfect mix of books and barks!

Get ready to wiggle, sing, and play! Join Jennifer from EarlyON for a lively music and movement program designed for toddlers and their caregivers. Through songs, dancing, and simple instruments, little ones will build motor skills, rhythm, confidence, and self-expression—all while having fun!  No registration required—just bring your dancing shoes and smiles! Meet in the Story Tower!

Jennifer is the new EarlyON Facilitator in Thornbury, partnering with the L.E. Shore Library. She has experience as an EarlyON Facilitator in Simcoe County and as a supply educator with BVO and the Bluewater District School Board. With diplomas in Early Childhood Education and Personal Support Work, plus a BA from the University of Waterloo, Jennifer is passionate about inspiring children through play, exploration, and creativity.

As we celebrate 30 years of the L.E. Shore Library, we’re looking to the future! Help us plan for the next 30 years by sharing your ideas on how the building can better support reading, learning, gathering, and creativity for everyone in our community.

Join us to learn about the Space Utilization Study, speak with the project team, and provide feedback.

Trick-or-Treat Story Time

Trick- or - treat—come dance, read, and celebrate Halloween at the library! Join us for a special spooky story time filled with stories, rhymes, songs, movement, and a fun Halloween craft. We’ll even have a little treat to share. Ages 0–5 with their caregivers (siblings and older children welcome).

Baby and Me

Join a safe and nurturing environment to learn and play with your baby (0–12 months) while connecting with other families and caregivers. Activities include sensory play, songs, rhymes, conversations, special guests, and more. EarlyON staff will provide parenting information, resources, and referrals.

Art Making Open Studio

Join us for a weekly drop-in art therapy open studio focused on creativity and well-being. This group offers a welcoming, non-judgmental space where people can connect, make art, and enjoy time together through the creative process. Participants can follow a weekly guided art invitation or work on their own projects at their own pace. Led by art therapy intern Brita Ralph, the studio encourages belonging, self-expression, and meaningful social connection. All are welcome.

Online Trivia Night: 30 Years of BMPL

Celebrate the Library’s 30th anniversary with a special edition of our interactive online Trivia Game Night! Play on your own or team up with family and friends as you answer questions and compete for the top spot on our scoreboard.

This edition will put your knowledge of BMPL to the test—covering milestones, people, places, and quirky facts from the past 30 years. Expect a fun, fast-paced challenge filled with laughter and library history.

The trivia link will be shared in our November newsletter, on Facebook, and right here on the online event calendar.
