Story Time in the Courtyard
Meet us in the Courtyard, of the L.E. Shore Library for a fun and interactive Story Time every Friday at 11:00am. Join us for stories, rhymes, movement, songs and lots of FUN! Remember your hat, water and sunscreen. Ages 0-5. If it’s raining, we’ll meet in the Story Tower.

Get ready for more stories, songs, and summer fun! Join us every Saturday morning at 11:00am for Story Time at the library. Together we’ll read, sing, dance, create, and make special memories with your little ones. It’s the perfect way to start your weekend with laughter, learning, and connection.

Mermaid Hairbrush Workshop
Dive into summer with a splash of ocean-inspired creativity! Calling all mermaid lovers—this magical morning is just for you. Join us to design and decorate your very own mermaid hairbrush using seashells, rhinestones, and plenty of imagination.
All supplies are provided, and you’ll leave with a one-of-a-kind creation fit for under-the-sea royalty.

STEM for Kids! Engineering Design Challenges - Robotic Hand Challenge
Every other Tuesday at the L.E. Shore Library for our Tuesday STEM Challenges!
Build a hand that can bend, grab, and move. Kids will create a working model robotic hand and discover how strings, joints, and clever design can mimic the way our own hands work.

Game On! Board Game Club
Roll the dice and join the fun! Drop in every Wednesday in August from 2-4pm to play a variety of board games with fellow game lovers. Led by student volunteer William, this relaxed afternoon is a chance to discover new games, challenge your strategy, spark your imagination, and make new friends. Stargazing at the Carr Observatory - FULL

Don't miss one of our most exciting summer events! Join us on Thursday, August 13, at 7:30 p.m. at the L.E. Shore Library for a fascinating presentation by a member of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, Toronto Centre.
Astronomy educator Chris Vaughan will be joining us to share his knowledge about meteor showers, including what causes them, when to watch for them, and how to get the best views of these spectacular celestial events.
Following the presentation, we will head to the Carr Observatory for an evening of stargazing, weather permitting. Parking at the observatory is limited, so we encourage participants to carpool whenever possible. Please dress warmly and wear closed-toe shoes, as we will be outdoors. Registration is required, and only registered participants will be guaranteed a spot at the observatory.
Astro Night is a family-friendly program, so bring the kids along for an evening of celestial fun!
