April 21st marks the birthday of John Muir, renowned naturalist, writer, and environmentalist whose passion for the natural world helped inspire the modern conservation movement.
Join us at the L.E. Shore Library as local author Robert Burcher discusses his book My Summer of Glorious Freedom, which explores John Muir’s time in our neighbouring community of Meaford, set in the beautiful Trout Hollow. Robert will share his research into Muir’s route to Meaford, his environmental legacy, and his recent experience guiding a camera crew through Trout Hollow to the old mill site and cabin—why they were there and what this connection may lead to next.
A meaningful way to celebrate Mother Earth by honouring the life and legacy of John Muir. Registration is required for this event.
