2025 marks 30 years of the Blue Mountains Public Library! As part of our anniversary celebrations, this exhibition shines a spotlight on one of the library’s most cherished features: The Gallery at the L.E. Shore Memorial Library - a space that has showcased extraordinary art and talent for three decades.

To honour this legacy, the BayValley Artists present a special exhibition composed entirely of 30x30 inch paintings, a nod to both the Library’s anniversary and the artists’ creativity.

BayValley Artists

Formerly known as Marsh Street Artists, BayValley Artists was founded in September 2004 by Nancy Jackson and Mary Ann Morgan. Their goal was simple: to support local artists and foster a thriving artistic community.

From humble beginnings at Clarksburg’s Marsh Street Community Centre, the group has grown and participated in many exhibitions, including at the L.E. Shore Library, Meaford Hall, and Owen Sound Co-op.

A Look Back: The Gallery at L.E. Shore

The Gallery debuted its inaugural exhibition alongside the library’s grand opening in December 1995. Designed as a dedicated space for fine art, The Gallery has always been a cornerstone of the Library’s mission to support arts and culture in the community.

Following the grand opening, the Arts Advisory Council was formed (later renamed the Arts & Culture Council) to manage The Gallery and assist with cultural programming in this space. Over the years, The Gallery has hosted a range of exhibitions and artists, both local and international, cementing its reputation as a dynamic and eclectic space for creativity.

As we celebrate this 30-year legacy, we look forward to continuing to bring outstanding art and experiences to the community for decades to come.
