About the Joint Multi-Use Recreation Feasibility Assessment
The purpose of the MURFA is to assess the current and future recreational facility needs of residents from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains communities. This assessment includes exploring integrating library services into a multi-use model, as has proven effective in several municipalities across the province. The goal of the assessment is to establish a better understanding of the needs of both communities, and determine the required amenities to be included in a multi-use recreation facility or facilities to support the recreational needs of the Town of Collingwood and the Town of The Blue Mountains today and into the future, and the degree to which the facility or facilities can be sustained. The results are expected to provide both Councils with the information required to make a “go/no-go” decision on further progressing plans that could lead to a major capital project.
