You'll also hear a bit about Debbie's own bird research and some of the incredible places she has worked, getting to know the landscapes that birds call home.
We’ll finish with some practical tips on how to identify birds and use binoculars. Then we’ll head outside to try it ourselves. Even in the quieter mid-afternoon hours of summer, we’re likely to spot familiar birds like robins and goldfinches. Great for beginners of all ages!

Debbie is an ecologist, educator, research analyst and author. She holds a Bachelor of Education and has a PhD in birds (well, Animal Ecology, but her study species were birds). She has performed bird research in Panama, Tierra del Fuego (Argentina), Mauritania, Europe, the USA and Canada (including the Arctic).
She's recently released a book TIARIS: when the Oceans Kissed. Join Tiaris as she experiences the
wonders of the tropics. The book is well researched and there are many bird references in it!
