On January 10, Journey to Sikkim with L.E Shore librarian, Ken Haigh, as he describes his experiences as a volunteer teacher in this little-known corner of the Himalayas.
Ken Haigh is a retired teacher and librarian. He is also the author of Under the Holy Lake: A Memoir of Eastern Bhutan and On Foot to Canterbury, which was a finalist for the 2021 Hilary Weston Writers' Trust Prize for Nonfiction.

All proceeds from this event will be donated directly to the Vidya Sagar Gyanpeeth School where Ken volunteered. This school is one of a selection of village schools that is supported by the Himalayan Education Lifeline Programme (HELP). HELP is a charity seeking to elevate the effects of poverty in the Himalayas through education.
