On January 10, Journey to Sikkim with L.E Shore librarian, Ken Haigh, as he describes his experiences as a volunteer teacher in this little-known corner of the Himalayas.

Ken Haigh is a retired teacher and librarian. He is also the author of Under the Holy Lake: A Memoir of Eastern Bhutan and On Foot to Canterbury, which was a finalist for the 2021 Hilary Weston Writers' Trust Prize for Nonfiction. 

Registration required. This will be a hybrid event with in-person and online attendance. By registering, you will also receive a link for virtual access - you can choose to attend in-person or online.

All proceeds from this event will be donated directly to the Vidya Sagar Gyanpeeth School where Ken volunteered. This school is one of a selection of village schools that is supported by the Himalayan Education Lifeline Programme (HELP). HELP is a charity seeking to elevate the effects of poverty in the Himalayas through education.
