Join us Saturday, September 2 from 2-4pm for the opening of En Plein Air! Featuring students and instructors of The Blue Mountain School of Landscape Painting, the show runs from September 2-27.
The Blue Mountain School of Landscape Painting (BMSLP) was founded in 1980, primarily hosting plein air (outdoors) classes. They have gained provincial wide recognition for their excellent instruction in the beautiful outdoors.
2023 is the 41st season of the BMSLP’s spring painting workshops in the Blue Mountains. This is a rare opportunity where local property owners allow students to enjoy and paint beautiful, often historic sites. In this exhibit, past and present students are invited to share their work painted on those sites. BMSLP is excited for the opportunity to show the wonderful work of their students in a variety of mediums. They are also thrilled that newer students can experience and learn from showing work for the first time. We all look forward to gathering together to celebrate the work!
ACC Presents: Sailing in the Drake Channel & Antarctica
On Thursday, September 14 at 7pm, be transported across the world!
Mary Lou Gignac will recount the Challenges and Joys of sailing a 60-foot sailboat across the Drake Channel and along the Antarctic Peninsula. Many things were more difficult as a solo “older woman”. But then, so many things were better with the wisdom and perspective of being that woman. The beauty and experiences of this journey were beyond belief!
