Organizational Excellence
- 2025 Audited Financial Statements: The Board approved the 2025 audited financial statements following a presentation from KPMG. The audit was clean, and the Board requested greater clarity in future statements regarding individual Library reserve funds and reserves held by the Town.
- 2027–2037 Strategic Plan: The Board approved the 2027–2037 Strategic Plan following discussion and feedback. The Plan will be formally released to the public in 2027 and provided to the new Council as part of its orientation.
- Financial Framework & Policies: The Board approved a new Financial Framework, updated Finance Policy, new Donations, Sponsorships and Fundraising Policy, and Reserve Policy, with amendments.
- Board Recruitment: Council supported the Board’s recommended recruitment process for the next Library Board. Applications will open October 28, with new Board members expected to be appointed by Council on December 14.
Community Hubs
- L.E. Shore Expansion Next Steps: The Board received an update on the next steps for the L.E. Shore expansion, including development of the project scope, preparation of an RFP for release in late 2026 or early 2027, and development of a Stage Gate Process outlining key timelines and opportunities for Board engagement. The RFP team will include Library and Town staff, with the Stage Gate Process to be presented to the Board in October.
