Organizational Excellence
- 2025 Annual Report Approved: The Board approved the 2025 Annual Report, highlighting how BMPL continues to deliver on its strategic goals and make a meaningful impact in the community. The report will be presented to Council by the CEO at an upcoming meeting.
- 2026 Action Plan Drafted: The Board completed the first draft of the 2026 Action Plan, setting a clear roadmap to align annual priorities with the Library’s strategic direction. Further discussion will take place at the April 16, 2026, meeting.
- Strategic Plan Update: The Board received a verbal update on the new Strategic Plan. Engagement is underway, beginning with a youth workshop at Georgian Bay Community School with 40 students participating. The community survey remains open, with strong efforts to reach both users and non-users. The Strategic Planning Steering Committee will meet again on April 7 to review input and continue advancing the plan.
Community Hubs
- L.E. Shore Space Utilization Study Final Report Reviewed: The final report for the Space Utilization Study was further reviewed by the Board in closed session, pursuant to section 16.1(4)(c) of the Public Libraries Act.
- L.E. Shore Washroom Renovation & Craigleith Heritage Depot HVAC: The CEO provided an update on the L.E. Shore washroom renovation project, with the contract now awarded. A staff report was also presented to Council by the Town's Manager of Fleet and Facilities on Monday, May 16, 2026. The report confirmed that HVAC replacement at the Craigleith Heritage Depot Museum & Archive is planned for this year.

- March Break and Lead Like Her Success: The CEO recognized staff for another successful March Break at the BMPL, and for leading the “Lead Like Her” series in partnership with the Marsh Street Centre in celebration of International Women’s Day.
