Organizational Excellence

  • Valuing the Blue Mountains Public Library: The Board received the first draft of the Library’s Social Return on Investment, using the Ontario Library Service’s Valuing Ontario Public Libraries Toolkit (VOLT). A subcommittee was formed to develop a presentation of the data to Council.
  • Town/Library Collaboration Highlights: The CEO presented several verbal reports highlighting the ongoing collaboration between the Library and the Town of The Blue Mountains, including the Blue Mountains Arts & Crafts Walk, the Town of The Blue Mountains Climate Action Fund project team, the Multi-Use Accessibility Feasibility Assessment Committee, the Cultural Map, the installation of new public access computers, and the Accessibility Feasibility Study.

Community Hubs

  • Save Our School Libraries: The Board supported the Library’s endorsement of the Ontario Library Association’s petition to save school libraries in Ontario. The petition will be shared with colleagues, volunteers, and users through in-person interactions, the Library’s newsletter, and social media channels. 

Empowering Services

  • Launch of the Seed Library: The BMPL launched a new Seed Library as part of the Gardener-In-Residence partnership with the Grey County Master Gardeners. The Climate Action Now Network was acknowledged for its generous $200 donation to the program.
