Knit and Knatters

Our informal knitting club is open to enthusiasts of all skill levels, and we invite you to join us in our cozy and friendly space. All you need to bring are your needles and wool, and you'll have the perfect setting to knit, chat, and forge new friendships.

Story Time in the Story Tower

Meet us in the Story Tower at L.E. Shore Library for a fun and interactive Story Time on Fridays at 11:00am. Join us for stories, rhymes, movement, songs, and lots of FUN! Ages 0-5 and their caregivers. Siblings and older children welcome. Drop-in.

Kids Podcasting Club

Love stories, media, or trying something new? The TBM Kids Podcasting Club is a biweekly, hands-on program for youth (grades 5 to 8) who want to learn how podcasts are made and create one together.

Participants will meet in a small group at the L.E. Shore Library Board Room to learn podcast basics, work as a team, and share their ideas in a supportive space. Over the session, students will build skills in storytelling, communication, and collaboration while having fun.

Led by Lalincson Media with assistance from Mr. Grant Kearns.

Details

When: Fridays, 3:30–4:30pm Dates: Friday April 10  & Friday May 1. Rest of the dates will be scheduled as a group but plan is for every other Friday in May and June.

Limited space. Registration is required. Register below to reserve a spot.

(Please note: there will be no session on  Friday April 24 but instead will meet on Friday May 1)

Pollinate Event: Adopt a Pollinator Patch

Join Pollinate TBM at the L.E. Shore Library for a hands-on morning dedicated to our local pollinators! This interactive event offers something for all ages, from practical gardening demonstrations to creative crafts.

Event Highlights:

Expert Guidance: Enjoy a 20-minute slideshow for adults in the Gallery focused on pollinator health and native plants. Kids’ Corner: Ongoing crafts and face painting will be available in the Gallery throughout the event. Garden Demo: Head to the Courtyard for a live 20-minute demonstration on how to plant your own pollinator patch. Interactive Fun: Help us decorate our community canoe in the Courtyard or snap a photo in our giant butterfly chair. Enjoy light refreshments.

Plant Giveaway: Households can pick up free plants in the parking lot to start their own gardens at home.

Open to all ages; activities are designed to be family-friendly.

This event is made possible thanks to a Sustainability Grant from the Town of The Blue Mountains.

Home Alone Safety Course

The  Blue Mountains Public Library is partnering with Blooming Youth to offer a one-time Home Alone Safety Course for youth ages 9–14. This interactive, practice-based program covers the skills kids need to feel confident and safe at home on their own, including basic first aid, fire safety, recognizing hazards, and handling emergencies. 

10 spaces available at a reduced rate of $10 per participant (regularly $70–$90)

This program is meant for families who would benefit from the financial support. Spaces are limited. Register below.

Community Conversation: On Race and Belonging

This community conversation invites participants to explore what it means to be a better neighbour in everyday life. Together, we'll reflect on what makes people feel welcome, build awareness of different experiences in our community, and identify simple, practical ways to create more inclusive spaces for others.

Facilitated by local resident and experienced conversation guide Nova Nicole, this session is open, welcoming, and grounded in real-life connection. All ages are invited to drop in anytime between 3:30 and 5:00pm, no registration required.
