The Blue Mountains Public Library (BMPL) Board has begun work on a new 10-year Strategic Plan that will guide the future of the Gallery, Library, Archive, and Museum.
As part of the planning process, the BMPL is inviting residents, visitors, and community members to share their perspectives through a community survey, now open until Friday, March 20, 2026.
The survey will help the Board understand how people use its spaces and services today, what barriers may exist, and what the community would like to see over the next decade. Feedback will inform future priorities, service development, partnerships, and long-term planning.
“We want to hear from as many people as possible,” said Jennifer Murley, CEO of the Blue Mountains Public Library. “Whether you visit us regularly, occasionally, or have never used our services before, your perspective matters. Understanding both experiences and barriers helps ensure we are planning for the needs of the entire community.”
The Blue Mountains Public Library includes two community spaces:
- L.E. Shore Memorial Library & Gallery
- Craigleith Heritage Depot Museum & Archive
Together, these spaces form the community’s local GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, and Museums), offering access to learning, culture, history, and connection.
The community survey takes approximately 7 minutes to complete and can be accessed online at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BZ3ZQZ7
Residents who prefer a paper copy can pick one up at:
- L.E. Shore Memorial Library
- Craigleith Heritage Depot Museum & Archive
- Town Hall
Community input will play an important role in shaping the Library’s strategic direction and ensuring its services continue to evolve alongside the needs of a growing and changing community.
