Story Time with Sam the Therapy Dog
Get ready for a heartwarming and educational experience! On Fridays, October 3 & 10, we’re welcoming a very special guest—Sam, a certified St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog, along with his handler—for two soothing story time sessions.
During these gentle, interactive programs, little ones (ages 0–5) will have the chance to listen to calming stories, meet Sam up close, and even give him a friendly pet or cuddle. It’s a wonderful way to help young children build comfort and confidence around furry, four-legged friends in a safe, welcoming environment.
No registration required—just drop in and enjoy!

SweetStrings Free Community Concert
SweetStrings, a community string ensemble formed in January 2025 is finally ready to share some of it's music! Enjoy a free comminity show at the L.E. Shore Library.
SweetStrings is compromised of string players from around the region. From Creemore, Collingwood, Meaford, Thornbury, Owen Sound, Hanover and more! As a result of obtaining a Trillium Foundation Seed Grant, professional musicians work bi-weekly with these enthusiastic community players to develop interesting repertoire, and to encourage musical growth.
SweetStrings will celebrate their year end concert on January, 25, 2026 at Meaford United Church. Mark your calendars early!
SweetStrings is under the umbrella of the well established Sweetwater Music Festival, led by violinist Edwin Huizinga as Artistic Director. A festival that brings world class professionals to the region in the spring and fall for fabulous concerts.

Online Trivia Night: 30 Years of BMPL
Celebrate the Library’s 30th anniversary with a special edition of our interactive online Trivia Game Night! Play on your own or team up with family and friends as you answer questions and compete for the top spot on our scoreboard.
This edition will put your knowledge of BMPL to the test—covering milestones, people, places, and quirky facts from the past 30 years. Expect a fun, fast-paced challenge filled with laughter and library history.
