Family Literacy- Learn to be green

-

This event is being moved INDOORS to the wind and snow conditions. See you in the Story Tower at L.E. Shore!

Join us for a fun and engaging celebration of Family Literacy Day, observed every January 27th to raise awareness about the importance of reading and enjoying literacy-related activities as a family. This year’s inspiring theme is “Learn to Be Green.”

We’ll kick off with stories about the environment, sing lively songs, and go on a nature scavenger hunt. If the weather’s on our side, we’ll enjoy the fresh air and read and sing outdoors—so bundle up in your warmest gear! After story time, we’ll head indoors for a hands-on activity: kids will get to plant their very own green bean seed! They'll take it home to nurture, care for, and watch it grow. Through these simple, eco-friendly activities, we hope to spark a lifelong love of reading and inspire young minds to care for our planet. Let’s grow together—one story and one seed at a time!
