Organizational Excellence
- CEO Evaluation Committee Appointed: Board Chair Laurey Gillies and members Kristina Wichman and Carol Sackville-Duyvelshoff were appointed to the 2024 CEO Evaluation Committee. The CEO's annual evaluation will take place before the November 21, 2024 Board meeting.
- Board Evaluation Tools Confirmed: The Board finalized the evaluation tool that will be used to conduct its annual self-evaluation. The results will be presented at the November 21, 2024 Board meeting.
- November Planning Meeting Scheduled: The Board planned a special meeting in November (either November 7 or 14) to update the Library's list of key supporters, identify current library needs and solutions, and determine ways to encourage support from existing relationships.
- 2023 Audited Financial Statements Approved: KPMG presented the 2023 draft audited statements and the Board was introduced to the Town's new Treasurer, Monica Quinlan, and Deputy Treasurer, Michael Switzer. The Board approved the 2023 audited financial statements and the Town's auditing firm for the 2024 audit.
- 2025 Budget Timeline Revised: The 2025 draft budget was deferred to the October 17, 2024 meeting.

- Valuing the Blue Mountains Public Library Presentation to Council Confirmed: The Board reviewed the Library's social return on investment presentation and confirmed that the Library CEO is presenting the results to Council on October 21, 2024, celebrating Ontario Public Library Week.

- Little Free Libraries Ribbon Cutting Announced: It was announced that the Library is organizing its official launch of the 5 Little Free Libraries and Food Pantry across the TBM, tentatively on Monday, October 21 at 8:30 a.m. at the BVO location. *This date was later revised to Friday, October 11 at Ravenna Memorial Park.
