About The Gallery at L.E. Shore
The Gallery at L.E. Shore is a beautiful, single room exhibition space and main programming area for the L.E. Shore Library branch of the Blue Mountains Public Library. In addition to hosting monthly exhibits, The Gallery is a busy space for library, gallery and community events, programs and meetings, including concerts, workshops, AGMs and so much more. This lively atmosphere offers artists a unique opportunity to connect their work with a wide and diverse audience.
The Gallery is governed by the Arts & Culture Council (ACC), a body of volunteers with a passion for the arts. These talented individuals are the driving force behind The Gallery’s art exhibits, talks, workshops and other arts and culture events. The Gallery administrator is the assistant to the ACC and main point of contact for the public and artists.
How Exhibits are Planned
The ACC plan their exhibit seasons a year in advance. Application to exhibit in the next year opens annually on June 1, closing August 31, and the ACC jury applications in September. An exhibit season runs January-December and is composed of eleven exhibits, with each exhibit running roughly one month. The exception to this is our summer invitational, which runs two months over July and August. Applicants are not scheduled to exhibit in February, as this month is reserved for The Gallery’s annual color-themed show—an open invitational that showcases the work of up to 100 local artists.
