Join the Tween Advisory Group (TWAG) and have your say on The Blue Mountains Public Library's programs and services for Tweens. Experience an interactive meeting where you'll have opportunities to share your thoughts and opinions, try new library programs, and develop new skills. Make, Explore, and Lead with TWAG during an interactive and engaging tween-led group meeting. Every month we will explore new themes and activities. 

Physical distancing and all health measures will be in effect.

Ages 10 -12. Registration Required.

Meditation for Teens

Thursday June 30, 2022

Time: 4:30pm - 5:00pm

Location: The Gallery at L.E. Shore Library.

Teen Meditation Program 

A five week meditation course for youth, free of charge.

Week 1: Introduction to meditation and the benefits~decreased anxiety and stress, increased focus, strengthened memory and feelings of confidence and joy.
Week 2: Exploring various meditation techniques
Week 3: Creating an at home practice
Week 4: More techniques to increase resilience, patience and kindness
Week 5: Long, deep guided meditation.

No experience or equipment needed.

We will begin by meditating seated on chairs, and offer option to move to cushions as we progress.  Students choice.

Blue Mountain Pottery Scavenger Hunt

Saturday July 2, 2022 - Wednesday July 20, 2022

Location: Downtown Thornbury.

The Hunt is on for Blue Mountain Pottery!

In partnership with the Thornbury BIA, search out all five Blue Mountain Pottery pieces in the shops of downtown Thornbury! Pick up your hunt cards at the Craigleith Heritage Depot and L.E Shore Library and Gallery to participate. Mark on the card the shop you found the matching pottery piece. Once all five pieces have been found complete the card and drop it in one of the ballot boxes found in each of the shops, for your chance to win a prize! 

The winners will be announced at the Blue Mountain Pottery Expo on July 23rd during the opening ceremony and winners will be contacted to pick up their prizes in person at the Craigleith Heritage Depot. Prizes include a special Blue Mountain Pottery calendar, made by the museum and Thornbury Graphics, The Orchid Restaurant BOGO coupons, Fisherman’s Kit, National Geographic Crystal Kit.
