Celebrate The Blue Mountains Public Library and all Ontario public libraries during Ontario Public Library Week, October 18th to 24th. All week long there will be activities that connect us with our library, and the value they add to the community. One Card, One Million Possibilities.

Each day during Ontario Public Library Week, we'll give you a behind the scenes look into the life in and at the library on our Instagram page. Engage with us and others to help celebrate your public library and those across Ontario.

Also, we'll be running a special New Library Membership campaign, with more exciting details to come.

Virtual Star Gazing

Tuesday October 20, 2020

Time: 7:00pm - 8:00pm

Location: The Blue Mountains Public Library Zoom..

Join Ian Wheelband from RASC as we virtually stream telescope views of Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. We will also identify the Fall constellations using a live sky video. Need a star finder? You may pick one up from the library in advance (while supplies last). This is a rain or shine event, and if we are clouded out we will still be able to view the objects from a remote (or prerecorded) telescope. 

You will need a computer or laptop with a web camera, or a tablet or smart phone to participate in this event. Once registered, you will be sent a Zoom Meeting ID and password to attend this program.

Open to all ages. Free program.

Break The Fake: How to Tell What's True Online? Workshop

Trick-or-Treat Drive Thru DROP OFF Deadline

Time: 11:00am - 6:00pm

Location: LE Shore.

The Blue Mountains Public Library want to make sure every family has a chance to trick or treat during the pandemic. Our staff will be passing out candy and goodies at our Halloween Trick or Treat Drive Thru Saturday October 31st.

Community Members are encouraged to join our give away. To keep the children safe you can't be present with us, but if you are closing your door to Halloween this year due to the pandemic, consider dropping off your candy here and we will make sure every household who participates is mentioned and the trick-or-treaters will get that much more candy and treats on their stop here at LE Shore! All contributions should be received by Thursday, October 29th at 6pm so the goodies can be quarantined for safe distribution.

Trick-or-Treat Drive Thru

Location: L.E. Shore Library Parking Lot.

The Blue Mountains Public Library wants to make sure every family has a chance to trick-or-treat during the pandemic.
