Train Tracks to Ski Tracks

Thursday December 15, 2022

Time: 7:00pm - 8:30pm

Location: Zoom.

The Craigleith Station has welcomed travellers since the 1880s. Tourist travellers to the area initially took the waters and the air for their health and enjoyed local spas along the rail line.  However, with the development of the ski industry along the Niagara Escarpment specialized ski trains created opportunities for winter fun for city dwellers. Join Craigleith Heritage Depot Curator Andrea Wilson as she shares the story of the ski train and its impact on the Craigleith Station and the local community.

This event is held in conjunction with the Toronto Railway Museum, Tickets for this event are free, although registration is required at:

https://torontorailwaymuseum.com/?page_id=1067&civiwp=CiviCRM&q=civicrm%2Fevent%2Fregister&reset=1&id=51.

Please note this event has a limited capacity.  If the event sells out, please email manager@trha.ca to be added to the waitlist.

Attendees will get access to our exclusive Zoom meeting room, where they can engage directly with the presenter and museum historians in a post-lecture Q&A. The event will begin at 7pm Eastern Standard Time, and will end at approximately 8:30pm EST.

Dorothy Crysler Bird Club

Saturday December 17, 2022

Time: 9:30am - 10:30am

Location: Zoom meeting.

Join Curator Andrea Wilson as each month we learn about our wild avian friends, their habits and habitats. This will not only help you identify birds, but you will learn about migration, nesting, environmental needs, species at risk and more. This is a collaborative study group, where participants will share as we grow knowledge together.

The club is named for Dorothy Crysler, a remarkable local artist, journalist, author and birder! This club takes her cue, as she was "the messenger not the expert". This group is for anyone, new or established as a birder.

When you register a zoom meeting link will be emailed to you.
