Library Observatory Night

Saturday July 21, 2018 7:30pm

Join us on Saturday July 21st for a night of learning and exploration with the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada.  

The evening will begin at 7:30pm with an Astronomy lecture at the L.E. Shore Memorial Library 

Afterwards, when the sun sets, we will head to the Carr Observatory (maps will be provided.  Must have own transportation) to use the telescope to view the planets, galaxies and stars.

This 2-hour class is an introduction to working with photos on your iPad. It includes taking photos with the iPad and using the Photo App to review, edit, and organize images. Bring your iPad.

Superstorms of Ontario

Local photographer and stormchaser, David T. Chapman, will be giving a presentation on Superstorms of Ontario.

Learn about olar storms(northern lights), wind storms, ice storms, snow storms, winter and supercell thunderstorms, which are the most dangerous type, which has some very dramatic footage. As for the northern lights segment, it has some fantastic displays from the local area, including one right from the harbour over the ice.
