Dates of Creation: 1963-

Scope and Content: A collection of miscellaneous records from the Beaver Valley Chapter of the Bruce Trail Association.  The Bruce Trail runs from Queenston to Tobermory along the Niagara Escarpment, a distance of about 782 km.  The idea for the trail was first proposed in 1960 by Raymond Lowes to the Federation of Ontario Naturalists and a Bruce Trail Committee was formed.  The trail was completed in 1967.  The Bruce Trail is the oldest and longest hiking trail in Canada, much of it running through privately owned land and is maintained by groups of local volunteers. The Beaver Valley Bruce Trail Club maintains the stretch of trail from Craigleith to Blantyre, a distance of about 86 km.  This collection is mainly minutes of meetings, correspondence and newspaper clippings have to do with the activities of the Beaver Valley Bruce Trail Club.
