The Stephen Leacock Memorial Medal for Humour

The Stephen Leacock Memorial Medal for Humour has been awarded annually since 1947 for the best book of humour written by a Canadian and published in the previous year. The award serves to honour the dean of Canadian humorists and to perpetuate comedic writing in Canada. Some of our finest writers have been recipients of the award. In addition to the silver medal, the winner also receives a $10,000 cash prize.
